I want to share this interesting read Should You Still Learn to Code in an A.I. World? from The New York Times and my own experience in using ChatGPT to help me in Python coding.
Yes, ChatGPT does make mistakes. From my experience in coding, I could spot those errors quite easily often with reference to the API documentation. But overall, the AI code generated helps me to write code much faster than I could otherwise, thus making me a more productive coder.
Is it still worthwhile to learn to code? I think it is but the nature of the coder's job has changed somewhat in the AI world. The new phrase coined GPT monkey is somewhat an apt description of the nature of the changes. So GPT monkeys are what job hirers are looking at now? 🐒🐒🐒
